Cricket Australia (CA) has announced scheduled for 2014-15 BBL competition. The opening match will be hosted at Adelaide Oval on December 18. Two semi-final matches will be played on 24-25 January and final game will be played on 28th Jan. The 8 participating teams will play 35 matches, including semi-final and final match.
The cricketing world is changing and many different countries are building up their own twenty 20 league to popularize the game. KFC Big Bash League is one of the most sought after Twenty 20 league in the world of cricket. This Australian domestic twenty 20 league was established in the year 2011. It was first known as KFC T20 Big Bash where teams of different states used to take part in it. The new league came up with new format where the teams from different cities came in taking part in the tournament. This will be the fourth season of the tournament which will take place in the year 2014/2022.
The number of teams taking part in the tournament this year is eight. The teams that will be taking part in the tournament are namely the Adelaide Striker from the city of Adelaide, the Brisbane Heat from the city of Brisbane; Hobart Hurricane from Hobart, Melbourne city has two teams in the tournament namely the Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades. The famous city of Sydney too has two different teams participating in the league and is known as Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunders. The last team of that is taking part in the tournament is a team from Perth known as the Perth Scorchers. Each team has a home ground in the tournament and the eight different stadiums that will be hosting the league matches are namely Adelaide Oval, the Blundstone Arena, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Sydney Cricket Ground, ANZ Stadium, Etihad Stadium, The Gabba and the famous WACA cricket ground. These 8 stadiums will act as the hosts to all the league matches in the 2014/15 season.
