150 Scholarships for Pakistani Students in Australia
University of Melbourne announced fee remission scholarships for Pakistani students in Australia. These scholarships are will be providing to graduate students in academic year 2014-15. These scholarships are available for PhD or Doctoral programmes. Number of scholarships is more than 150 and it will be award on merit based to all Pakistani and international students. Scholarships duration is two or three year with six month extensions for undergraduate students.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing graduate research degree (masters by research, PhD or other research doctorate) studies at the University of Melbourne.

Eligibility: To be considered for the MIFRS, you must:
> be an international applicant (ie. a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand, and not an Australian permanent resident);
> have completed tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a 4-year honours degree at an Australian university with a minimum result of first class honours;
> have applied for admission to undertake a master or doctorate by research degree, or
be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne
Target audience: International students (a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand) can apply for these Melbourne International Fee Remission scholarships.
Number of award: Each year the University of Melbourne offers about 150 Melbourne International Fee Remission Scholarships.
Duration of award: The duration of the MIFRS is up to two years for student undertaking a master by research degree and up to three years, with two possible six month extensions, for students undertaking a doctorate by research degree.
What does it cover? The Melbourne International Fee Remission Scholarships provide for the full cost of tuition.
Selection Criteria: MIFRS are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Eligible applicants are considered according to their
> academic achievement in their last completed degree; and
> Research potential in their field of study, taking into consideration factors relevant to the proposed research including professional experience, refereed publications, specialist medical qualifications or composition of original music.
Notification: The University assesses applications for scholarships on an ongoing basis. As a general rule: applications submitted before 31 October (Round 1) will be finalized by 15 February of the following year and applications submitted before 31 May (Round 2) will be finalized by 31 July.
How to Apply: Current University of Melbourne students who are enrolled in a research degree for which they wish to receive an Australia Postgraduate Award must apply through the Student Portal. All other students must complete an Application for Admission to Graduate Research Degree Candidature and Scholarship.
Scholarship Application Deadline:Applicants Deadlines are 31 October for Round 1 and 31 May for Round 2.
